About Us
At Persimmon Grove Church of Christ, we are a group of Christians trying to follow the bible in its simplicity. We study the bible and preach the same way the apostles did in the first century in the book of Acts. As members of the Church of Christ we strive to be lights unto the world and provide the truth in love to everyone who will accept God's grace by obedience to his will.
We have no earthly headquarters, or modern-day creed, The tie that binds all similar congregations around the world is the bible. The congregation that meets here is led by a group of elders, who were selected by the members based on qualifications given in the scripture. We also have deacons who oversee the physical matters of the church and were chosen based on scriptural qualifications.
In our worship services, we sing songs of praise to God (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16). We listen to a lesson presented from God's word (II Timothy 4:1-2). We remember our Savior’s death on the cross for our sins by partaking of the Lord's Supper each first day of the week (1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Acts 20:7). We go to our Heavenly Father in prayer (Acts 2:42; 1 Timothy 2:8). Also, we give of our means as we have prospered to support the work of the church, and to help support various men as they try to spread God's Word throughout other parts of the world (1 Corinthians 16:1-2).
We also have bible classes for all ages on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights. In our periods of Bible study, we open our Bibles and look earnestly at what God's Word has to say and do our best to make application in our lives.
We invite you to visit with us during our worship services or bible study anytime that you can!
